I believe (if I remember correctly) at one point and time they mixed cochin into the English orps to make them fluffier. Hence some lines have feathered less and atubbles. I bred this out of mine so sure as crap am not willing to breed it in!'

Achem.... I now have two females..... They however, I think are from pips and peeps eggs, not mine since
- they managed to live past hatch, past the three week mark, actually look healthy AND have perfect beaks

I don't think it's Marek's. But it could be some kind of pox that grew big due to immunosuppression r/t Marek's exposure. I tried to see if I could pull on off gently and it started bleeding. It's the oddest thing I ever saw. Someone thought it might be a young bird turning into a roo, LOL. I could see that but he's 7 years old.

This has been a real crappy week. I finally won my disability case after 2 years. The next day it appeared that my mother has suddenly gotten Parkinson's symptoms, and her dementia which was not bad is real bad now. She looked at me and told me I looked familiar, just like her daughter Karen. That's me !. My father is falling apart. Mom is going to need a sitter as much as possible. The nurse said we can "hope" a UTI is doing this. My daughter keeps calling me to get a DNR for her. I don't think now is the time, I think my dad needs a few days to absorb all this.

Please-no sympathy-everyone has problems. I would appreciate some advice or words of wisdom, tho. I helped my dad get her doctor to approve a wheel chair, etc. and a nursing evaluation, physical therapy, and an aid to help her bathe and do her hair 2-3 times a week. I've done home visits nursing, I am glad I know how to get this all together. Would you believe her neurologist ordered an MRI then went on vacation!!!

Everyone has problems, but everyone needs too...

Which stage of Parkinson's do they think she might have? Or is she showing tremors? I've had some exposure to it, but not paired with dementia... so not sure if any advice I could give would help... my sister in law found that repetitive fine motor movements helped her, playing simple games like checkers or crochet/knitting type things... but it can also build frustration... if I can think of anything I'll let you know...

Hope mini or Kathy can find out something about your roo...

No Parkinson help here... But yep on dementia

I know it sounds crazy... But there are things that can help some...

Walking two miles every day is very good

One drink a day can help too...

Remember that dementia is a blood flow to the brain thing... So think of ways to help that..

That is why alcohol helps... You know how when you drink, and your face gets flushed, or your nose gets red?

check cholesterol levels, and control that with diet and/or meds since high bad cholesterol will stop the blood flow.

Can't remember how much blood pressure plays a part..... (That one isn't a problem in my family)


Anyway... Those are the ones that we watch... We all try to Walk two miles a day, drink every day (keep checking the liver to make sure the booze isn't messing that up), and watch the diet/cholesterol levels.
