Reliance and Contender. Best that I know of for cold hardiness.
I planted them along with a bunch of other fruit trees. Didn't notice ants and aphids on them until they were dead...lost $100s.. Cherry peach plum all gone, have one pear, five apple left from that bunch. Did loose a pear and a couple apple also. Spraying them regularly with liquid sevin now I DON'T CARE!
Planted two more apple last spring. Wanted more but wife said 'why don't you see if you can get these to LIVE first!'

Al, at least there are some things us northerly types get to enjoy that the more southerly situated can't grow.

I just rigged up the game cam to get a glimpse of the wild bunny that seems to be visiting our domesticated rabbits. Every morning we find droppings around the pen.

Not really that worried, more interested. But yeah, parasites are always a possibility.

Oh, did I tell about our elk encounter the other day? The dogs started barking on our walk, but we didn't see anything at first, until we spotted a young male from last years batch lying about 20 meters from us. It wasn't reacting to anything, so we thought it was hurt. I held the dogs while Karin went a bit closer to take a look at it (We didn't want to call the hunting club in case nothing was wrong with it, as it probably wouldn't have been there anymore by the time they got there). She couldn't see any wound, so she started to circle behind it to see if there's a blood trail. When she was about 2 meters from it, it got up and faced her. Now, I don't know how close any of you have ever been to a young male elk, but 2 meters is definitely less than what anyone should feel comfortable with. Luckily there was a fallen tree between them, she kept the roots as a shield in front of her. Every time she took a step back, it took a step towards her. Finally, after 2 minutes of staring at each other he turned around a bit, and Karin managed to back out quickly with her tail between her legs. Talk about an adrenaline rush.

Oh I've looked, peaches just don't grow here... Not with out some hard core effort (like Sepp Holzer style). I was just being a turd....

Speaking of turds my baby scovy drake has taken to blocking my moms dog door so her dogs can't go out... I think it's funny, she does not.
