Here's my new babies. I ordered them from Meyer Hatchery. 1st time mail ordering chicks. So far, so good. They packed a heat pad in with them. I got 11 SS, 5 white leghorn ( I want white eggs

to add to my color palette), 6 black jersey giants & 4 Buff Orpingtons, 1 "Meal Maker".

Does hatching anxiety ever end? Like after 30 hatches or 10 does lock down become less stressful? I thought the fact I had a bunch of chicks already would have mad this stage less stressful...

I doubt if it ever ends. Always trying to perfect humidity, temp, candling, lockdown, everything. I will probably hatch out a few of ours. Just they will be mixed. Mixed around here, you MIGHT get $1.00 each for them. Pure breeds are only $3-$4 each unless you get into specialty breeds.

Oh, yeah... the turkeys were excruciating too... dang things pipped internally one day, external pipped the next and finally zipped the 3rd day...
