Dixie Chicks

The chicks are on their way out. DD & I moved 11 of them back to the coop. They are in the "little coop" which we moved inside of the big coop. Getting ready to go check on them before I get ready for work. The others will be out tonight. Just had to come up with a good plan. They will be separated into 2 pens and one large crate to avoid over crowding. Then mid April, I need to have space for my chicks coming from Papa's poultry (California). Right now temps are decent, but drop to 30s still at night.

Been trying to fight off all the illnesses floating around, but lost the battle. Woke up yesterday (after coughing my head off all night) and it feels like an elephant is on my chest. Ugh! Had a training class at another branch all day yesterday, so had to eat cough drops all day & hope for the best. I got super lucky for my schedule and am off Saturday, so I only have 2 days to tough it out. You all have a good day!

Yes, should've made that Saturday and Sunday I am off. Sunday is generally my only day off since they require a 6 day work week. Thankfully my branch is not open on Sundays. Not sure that I'd count it as a day "off" since family & friends will be here for lunch though:D.

I think most worker agreements here require a 35 hour continuous work free period once every 7 days, although it doesn't have to be on a weekend.

Well, I just signed a contract of employment. I start next Tuesday. It's going to be nice working again. And from the looks of it, I'm going to be swamped from the get go, so my BYC time will probably be cut short a bit again.

But in the mean time, here are some pics of the chicks. They went outside the run today, +1C (33F), and no signs of freezing. The boys are 2½ weeks and the girls 2 weeks old.

35 hours a week......that would be awesome! I figured out my hours away from home one day:th and it's super depressing.

Weekly:

40 hours---working
9 hours---45 minute drive each way times 6 days
5 hours---company requires 1hr unpaid lunch to be taken 5 days

54 hours. Stinks, but it's life.

Congrats on the new job Vehve.

Beercan, I totally get the concept of having 3 days off feeling like a vacation! Enjoy! I had to leave work early today. Sick:sick. Took some expensive cough syrup and hoping I feel better tomorrow. Lol! Should've opted for some good whiskey:D
