Dixie Chicks

Bear fat (bear grease) can be preserved with rendering for a long dang time, years I think.

Anyone ever have a duck vanish to hatch out ducklings? Her eggs have been missing about a week and now her... One of my muckovy.

Glad she showed back up... might be thinking about it... or at least hiding her eggs... here it's like an Easter Egg hunt each day for duck eggs... every time I collect them, they get miffed and find a new spot... :/

Yes, should've made that Saturday and Sunday I am off. Sunday is generally my only day off since they require a 6 day work week. Thankfully my branch is not open on Sundays. Not sure that I'd count it as a day "off" since family & friends will be here for lunch though:D.

Good luck... hope you feel better soon... :hugs

Ayam Cemani eggs arriving tomorrow!

Awesome!! Hope you get a stellar hatch!

Yeah she vanished again last night, turned up again mid morning. I'll have to go on a hunt.
I need to find some false eggs, perhaps that would stop the egg hunts with the Rouen's and the crosses. I sure don't want them laying in the pond again, only 3 out of 7 seem to be laying in the coop... Blah

Sounds like what my 2 were doing before they comitted to broodiness... golf balls work great, they don't seem to care if they look exactly like eggs, lol... any golf courses around there? Can usually find lots of lost ones within a mile of those places... :gig

What do they charge for AC eggs these days?

We bought discounted 6 day old eggs. $90/ dozen

Not a bad deal... :thumbsup

Felix, from good, reputable breeders AC eggs run $25-35 per egg regularly... their surplus they will either sell as a discounted BIN or auction them off...

What Ravyn said, good deal! I know three people near me selling at what they call a discount, $20 per egg... I still haven't picked up those five yet, getting cold feet, what if they die/get eaten/don't lay....
