Dixie Chicks

Gray squirrel pot pie is awesome.
Most people are turned off by gray squirrel. I've ate tons of them. Loved hunting them when I was a kid. Mom would par boil them and debone, dredge meat in flour and fry in butter in a cast iron pan. Mmmm.
I recently got back into hunting them a few yrs ago, season opens a month before smallgame and archery for deer. I use it to scout for bow season. Started using a .22 rifle instead of shotgun, wild squirrels are not like in-town bird feeder ones, it can be challenging. With a .22 even more challenging, gotta be like a sniper, wait till they stop moving for a good shot, I think it's better than deer hunting. Using a high powered pellet rifle this fall, been practicing on eradicating red squirrels and chipmunks right now (no I don't eat them).
love me some teriyaki squirrel

Coyotes are slacking and we are overrun with rodents, specifically rabbits, ground squirrels, chipmunks and mice.

Thank you to whoever mentioned the Squirrelinator. Mine is ordered and cannot arrive soon enough.

Varmints.... grrr......

Thanks for posting -- seems like a good idea who's time has come.

Your about to get hit with a heat wave.

Used to be so many around where I grew up , was a lot of shooting those days to keep them from eroding the roads , shot my share .......but I guess we did to good a job ( used to buy a cube of 100 22's and each one took out a ground gopher ) now they are hardly seen except occasionally scurrying across a HWY , country roads no longer house them

Lol!

This one was suppose to be a CCL cockerel. Pretty sure its a bielefelder pullet. I got her from a BYC friend in Maryland. Not complaining. She is a really good chicken. The breed is one I had considered, but dismissed due to such hot temps in summer here.
