Sucks when that happens Alaskan. I did the same with my plow truck once. Couldn't see wind and snow so hard, should've stopped but the snow was deep so I just kept it pegged and tried rolling the window down to stick my head out, off the driveway on the only part with a steep bank. Ground was soft cause early snow it never froze, four tire chains on the truck dug it deep quick down to the pumpkins... Thought my BIL could pull it out easy the next morn with his tractor, nope, wouldn't pull out forward or backward, couldn't get it back on the drive. He had to pull it sideways back up, rutting the bejesus out of our nice front lawn with the tractor...

I can hear your wife yelling about the lawn! Ouch!

One year many years ago, we stuck the tractor at the bottom of the hill. It was cold enough that then there was zero chance of getting it started again. That tractor needs to be plugged in.

Anyway...back then we had a friend with access to heavy equipment. He came with a giant excavator or something (don't remember anymore. But it was huge). He chained the tractor up to the back of the beast he was driving..and started to drive up the hill. The tractor followed along, swinging like a pendulum off the side of the hill. When he got up to the house, the entire house started shaking, and all of the dishes in the cupboards rattled. What a hoot.

-sigh- I now have to pay for heavy equipment, and never get stuff that big.

now I just set the egg candling once or twice and usually forget to lock them down :gig

I've been so excited about the call eggs, I almost forgot I have another full Bator of misc chickens! :D gonna have to check my notes on those.
