I don't think I posted my little poop factories here. Thanks to our dear Ravyn for the eggs, I hatched 13 call ducklings!

I have a broody that I can't remember when I let her keep her eggs and blocked the others from continuing to contribute. :/

And now I have yet another one! 5th one this year already. (counting one that gave up on day 14)

I have a bunch of Chamois Spitz, EEs, maybe 6 black or blue Ameraucana, 3 bantam wheaten Ams (but they got super cold, so not sure they are good), and maybe one or two each if Leghorn and Dominique.

My first hatch I only had a few eggs, almost all Spitz and a few EEs. However, the temps were still so low, not many made it to hatch. I hatched 5 Spitz and one EE. Of the 5 Spitz one was hatched with a too small anus..uh..cloaca. Second time I have had that, and I am using a new rooster this year. Bummer.

Ok, I have to ask....too small a uh cloaca? So they can't poop?

This one could only poop a little bit...but not fully. The hole was maybe 1/4 the size of a normal one. Last year I had a chick that had zero hole. Seriously.

Well that's interesting...

Down to one live scovy egg so I added some random chicken eggs (also a Rouen egg 7 days before those) they'll hatch (maybe) a week after the loner, if it hatches that is.

Sheesh... why the bad hatch rate Hen?



My first set I got a bad rate...but I think it was just too cold...a combo of low sperm count from cold, and eggs getting almost frozen so not fully viable.


Still zero eggs from the Scovy..... but my scovy are smart, they like to start laying when they can see ground...two feet plus of snow...no ground.
