Hi Amberjem!

regarding veining:

The 30 Trader Joe's supermarket eggs I have in the incubator right now are on Day 18 and headed for lockdown tonight...should be new chicks on Sunday!
The 11 replacement eggs for the mishap BLRW (Oops' eggs) haven't been put in an incubator yet, so no veins thus far.

We had freezing fog last night, so lots of frost this morning. I need to trudge out to the coop to tend to the girls, but sitting at the computer with a cup of coffee sounds so much easier.....

That was so me this morning!!

He had some blood coming from his comb... He is fine now. I think I was more freaked out then him. I pushed Bama almost to his death trying to get out of the door to get to him.

that reminds me peeps I need to set up a live wire it's just for a short area maybe 20 feet at max anyone have a economical idea for that?

Kris, maybe the Finns are too tough for him then... I got the Madventures cook book as a Christmas present a few years back. It's the only book I've seen a recipe for placenta in. It's pretty hard core cooking. Many insect recipes too.

Yea! He's a sissy....I need that book! I could give it to him for his birthday with a card that says remember them!!

As Far as I know she only ate a piece from her last birth... She has four kids and it's quite the process trying to have a baby here long story... So with her fourth child she had an unattended homebirth and the reason behind consuming the placenta is it is believed, if not proven, that it prevents hemorrhaging if you consume it... It has other benefited as well, with similar nutritional values to any organ meat.
Sidenote I didn't even want to see mine ( placentas ) after I had my boys
