Dixie Chicks

Come to think of it, ours didn't start with the proper chicken sounds before 3-4 months either. We might try to remove the partition in the weekend, see how they interact with the grown ups. Virpi isn't going to be much use in defending the chicks, but Töyhtis will hopefully whoop some butts.

soo umm anyone have any suggestions for a live wire on the fence?

Jem, I have an electric fence charger. I had it for my horses fence and kept it when they left. I have some 4 ft tall electro-net fencing by Premier that I use each year for my meat birds....ot to keep them in, they wouldn't get out of a 2 ft fence, but to protect them from things that would like to eat them. What is the live wire for? Are you wanting to put a single strand low hot wire on an existing fence as a deterrent?
