Dixie Chicks

We bought the property about 2 years ago. The previous owner had illegal (and stolen) electricity hooked up to it. I am exploring various options including solar power. But yes....if i had legit electricity...it would be cool
no electricity in your mancave???

that reminds me I almost almost and I still might go back and get it they have a solar powered LED outside floodlight thing.. I wanna install it on my henhouse run.........I think it would get enough electricity... @Sharps Big 50 pooped on my idea though...but I might get it still and try it if nothing else can eventually put it on the shop/garage which gets lotsa light.......it was only 25 bucks...

@Nifty-Chickenwho owns this byc website just installed solar on his house from panels he bought from Costco.

We have alot of sunlight here. I would really only need to power the lights, tv, and the boom box a few hours a week. Im thinking maybe 8 pm till midnight on Friday and Saturday. Shoot some pool...Catch some fish..I have no experience working with solar

I don't think he liked it... he's so focused on us.... he's the kind of dog that would rather interact with us then with another dog or human. When I dropped him off and as well as when we picked him up we never heard him bark. Usually he will bark given any chance, strange dog: bark. Strange noise: bark. Strange leave falls off a tree: bark.. Even when 2 new dogs got walked past his kennel into another kennel we didn't hear him go off the next morning. All the other dogs were going nuuuuts! (We had to wait around a few minutes as he was getting a late breakfast)

When the kennel owner finally took us back to get Felix I caught a quick glance at him before he saw me. Just curled up on his pillow while all the other dogs were barking their heads off at us. My boy was happy happy happy to see us. He was happy to jump up at us and lead away from the kennels. During one of his jumps to give me a "kiss" in the face his tail touched another kennel. That dog was just about to rip that tail off! My boy did not care, so happy to see us and lead away! Under normal circumstance he would have snarked right back and got into a big fight. I don't think he barked while he was there.

Now he knows that during his longer vacation we'll come back for him. He knows, not just we. He'll be staying with a trainer/friend of mine who only has 2 kennels at the back of her training facility. I think Felix will enjoy not being surrounded by a bunch of barking, mean dogs.

Felix doesn't like barking dogs.

Bama, the thing with solar is that it's a bit difficult to store. Sure, you can do batteries, but that isn't very efficient or cost effective. In my opinion it's best to use solar for heating water. An over sized water heater coupled with some solar panels is a nice combo. The water stores the heat for a long time.
