Dixie Chicks

heard there was some issue with the hay last year also that caused the prices to go up least around here...

been awhile since I got hay though or priced it

ohh good idea @RavynFallen
and I am ready to go get a new bag of feed as welll.. so can use it..hrmm I will have to try that have the staples can just staple it to the 2x2

If you cut it, cut it 3x bigger than what you need and fold it to keep it from frying to bad, when it wears out just staple more on...

Do you ever have extra ee eggs for sale? I really don't know how far you are away from us. I just know we are in the same state lol

Yes, but only one laying right now, lol... were laying well thru the cold snap and went on strike as soon as it warmed up... uh, but you are closer to Knoxville, yes? I am closer to Nashville, south of it... I do like road trips tho... when my younger ones start laying maybe we can figure something out? Just let me know, got several other breeds too...

JW, sounds like a good price for the round bale, the small ones, not so much. I think I paid 2.50€ per bale for those here, although that was straight from a farmer.

I just bought decent grass hay, not straw, for $4 a bale from a cattle rancher... regular sized square bales, not the minis Home Depot and Lowes sells, lol...

Haha Ravyn, yeah, but I think they mostly aim towards indoor pet owners with those mini bales. The ones I bought were decent sized, maybe 3*1*1½ feet. Easy to handle, but not ridiculously small. They do take up quite a lot of space though, I would need to reorganize my storage space.

Sounds similar to the ones I got... not the super heavy ones, but good and dry... I managed to fit 10 bales in my minivan... ;)

Peeling wall paper off is fun! I'll be right there!

What's that stuff called again... TRP.. TNT.... Can't remember the name... TXsomething... comes in a blueish carton (like a 1 L milk carton or cream carton), mix it with some water, through on the wall paper, let soak and wall paper just peels off. Oddly enough some grocery stores here sell it, not sure what the actual purpose is...

Come on down! I'll get the beer. Or whatever. I have been peeling wallpaper off for 2 years. Tried using Dif, scrapers, scratchers, vinegar & water, hot water, elbow grease is the only thing that works. Like I said earlier, this stuff has been on the walls since the '80s. The 1st owners loved

wallpaper. Really big flowers, bold stripes, just yuck

. 2nd owners didn't care and left everything as is. Just added wear and tear. Here we are 3rd owners and I'm ripping it all down. But DH has little faith in my painting and/or decorating abilities, therefore has not agreed to let me paint. Mainly because he thinks the colors I pick are "too loud". He also has the philosophy "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Well, when I send pics, you will see. It's broke. Not relaxing, pretty, inviting at all. Like some kind of old motel room or something scary. He was impressed with how much I got done yesterday and still managed to work, go to zumba class, and of course-tend to the chickens, rabbits and little girl.

@vehve , DH told me we are being gifted 2 more rabbits this weekend. That's a total of 6. All related though. Bucks are all freezer material. Does I will breed when we find an unrelated male. I am looking into growing their food for them. I have seen trays of sprouts be grown for them & I have a little greenhouse out in the backyard. They are not near as costly as the chickens though! My biggest issue now is housing for the newbies. That is part of this weekend's plans.

Also thinking about adding Crested Cream Legbar to the flock. Does anyone have any of these? I have contacted a breeder who has 3 roos and 2 hens for sale. Unrelated! Yeah! Hens lay beautiful blue eggs

I told the breeder I would make my decision by this Friday. If he still has them, I guess they are meant to be mine! This means I have to build another coop with dividers for the roosters.
