I just realized I ordered 41 chicks, plus they throw in that "exotic" chick for free plus I figure on a couple extras in case of death. I'm going to have 45+ chicks the first of May. :/

This is the first year mine have taken a break in winter. Some of my gals are approaching 3 years old, some 2, and one just started laying. I really want to hatch the blue orp hens eggs so I can see what I get in a pure bred chick, but the one egg I was sure was hers wasn't fertile. I may clip her feathers around her vent in spring. She's got a cushy tushie.

ETA: They are very hardy, just not as prolific a layer as a regular laying hen... sorry, got excited and posted before I answered, lol...

Yes getting wheaten n blue wheaten n blacks n lavs. I excited can't wait. Countdown til they get here. Worth what I spent on getting them.
