I've heard its easier to get a sunburn in the winter cause the sun is closer to earth, or the earth is tipped closer anyway.
That coyote reminded me of a wild hen turkey we saw yesterday. I though it was a peacock Lol, it's whole tail was covered in a mess of burdock poor thing, probably coyote bait now.
Wish I could have gotten a better picture but there was two huge beautiful bald eagles eating a road killed deer up the road from us. Went back with the good camera a couple times but they fly away.

I got some wicked sunburns tree planting on overcast days when it was cold... I don't know, refraction?

I skipped the sunscreen on a ski trip and got the reverse raccoon tan. The snow reflects more light that you feel and the cold makes your skin less sensitive to it.

I feel so sorry for the poor coyote pup - cholla hurts! Wonder how it got into that mess? Usually they would learn by having to pull it out of their paws after chasing a jackrabbit.

Vehve the chunks of compost ice sickles don't look garden friendly...

Man heated raised bed would be nice... Wonder how practical that is... Wish I had geothermal heat... I'd run lines in the greenhouse and raised beds...

You can use geothermal without having a heat source under ground... I have to go but it takes running sealed water lines very very deep to use the earth as a heat exchanger....

@vehve Loved the clip of Hilma running around and around when the rooster crowed. :D
Your raised beds are lovely; I'd give an arm and a leg to have 4 of them out back here. I'd have to fashion net/wire around them to keep the chickens out.

@ everyone Yeah, sunscreen head to toe, in all weather conditions if you are fair, or want to protect against sun-damaged skin. Even with sun screen, I'd see freckles bloom I had not seen since childhood when I spent the day snow skiing.

@ amberjem I'm doing a little pip dance for you. :yiipchick ( I once water- tested an egg that was four days past expected pip, and when it wiggled in the 100 degree water, I popped it back in the 'bater. It pipped later that day and hatched out a nice Orp.
