Morning all! All this baby talk made me cave last night! Went to Rural King & got chicks (2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Light Brahmas, 4 Easter Eggers). This was the only breeds they had left because the man just before us had bought 563 chicks! Then he stood there in line to pay for them bragging about how he buys them up every year so people can't find them and then hikes up the prices to $5 a chick and doubles his profit. Rural King should not let people buy them up like that! They should've told him that would place an order for him or something.

My local feed store is getting SS chicks in a couple weeks. They are putting mine on hold for me

. Right now its so cold, rainy, dreary out, no one is laying eggs!

So, I can't even fire up the incubator! Temps are suppose to climb this week. Hoping they do. We still have frozen stuff all over.

Little girl is over her stomach bug. Back to school for her.

1st day of work yesterday went good. There were some hiccups with the merge, but that's to be expected. Everyone there seems super sweet and I can't wait to go to training class next week.

You all have a good day! I'll try to catch up on posts today. Internet has been so slow for about a week or better here. Keeps freezing & such. Grrrr!

@bamadude the eggs you sent me are doing good they are SUPER strong baby chicks in there!! they are in lockdown now, considering the damage that occures to them thru shipping they are super vital and strong and wanting to make awesome baby chicks just a quick update for you ..so get your cigars together you'll be a chicken grandpappy soon with any luck

Jem, Woo hoo, baby chicks! Thanks for the great vid, my chicks in the computer room were cheeping along with your first hatch. Congrats on your first chicks from your own chickens!
