Don't worry, it'll happen when it warms up a bit more I'll change my mind again. LOL

After months of white, mud looks good!

Easter Hatchalong set date is Saturday (or tomorrow through Monday) for chicken eggs. I'll be setting my first hatch for the year!

I picked-up four silkie eggs from a friend yesterday and I'll be doing some from my flock of Icelandics. I'm going into the 'burbs Saturday and will be at Trader Joe's. If they have fertile eggs there, I'll pick some up and see if I can hatch them. Maybe some others from another friend....totals will be posted after Saturday when I see if I have broody hens or if I have to limit the number that will fit in the incubator.

Arggg, I am going to sit on my hands...my chooks have been locked into the coop too much and water froze too often to set eggs at the moment here. I think I will let them recover a bit from the harsh weather (and maybe clip a few fluffy butts) before collecting eggs again to hatch. Easter chicks does sound tempting!

@ Aviary Congrats on rehoming and sharing your chickens there.

@ tnt Send your sister-in-law here!

@ everyone Morning, another rainy day here. There is still a sun in the sky. I saw it briefly a couple of days ago.

Evening, everyone! Progress on the bunny pen. I shall now spam with pictures.

The effect of the sun on the run. Almost 20F warmer.

Some of the rocks removed.

More removed rocks.

The foundation. There's a foot of soil in there for the bunnies to dig in.

Eemeli, Wilma and Töyhtis enjoying the sun. Emma is sitting on the eggs in the coop.

Hilma likes the sun too.

The juvenile cockerels. Not much to eat yet, but... I think they're about 11-12 weeks old now. Still no crowing, but those combs are pretty telling. They do sing along with the egg song. I really like the color on this one in the front, but I think we'll be eating all of these.
