I wanted to give you a list of good egg laying ducks... but I am blanking, and the internet isn't being helpful.

However, Khaki Campbells look good, as well as Appleyards.

Wohoo! I shall look into those. Might sneak 2 eggs with my summer hatch... don't tell hubby!

@Amberjem , let me know how it goes. I am nervous for you. I am glad he came back. Just hope he comes to reality. Too many times it's too late. So you are 37? Come on....fess up!

My guess on Alaskan is 41. Sounds like his/her kids are younger than my oldest (22). So I vote for younger than me.

I am 59 born in 55.... And My guess is Alaskan is in his late thirties early forties... Hint is.... kids aged six to sixteen and married eighteen years.


And I have never been married.... nor ever asked. I had my one and only son at age 34.... he is 25 now.

I worked my way up through odd jobs till I took a drafting course when I was about 25.... Got a job at US Elevator drafting elevators.... After that I worked contract jobs and worked my way up to a Senior level Mechanical designer. Took some college but never finished or even applied for a degree program. wound up in a Sustaining Engineer position at a telecommunications company. Yep you can work your way up to an engineering title if you can walk the walk and talk the talk.

When that revolving door hit me one last time i decided to get my degree.... at 48. I could have taught all the classes except physics and electronics. Physics was fun... Electronics was vaguely interesting but it was for computers.... not so interested. I worked in that field for enough years to know what I needed to know when designing a box for a computer... I should have paid more attention.

So now I have a degree... what didi it get me? nuttin honey. Because my computer skills got stale... go figure.

I tried changing jobs to another field... bad choice of fields... so wound up working in a biomed company converting existign designs to the European standard called ROHAS No lead can be used in any compnent with an exception of batteries. So my job was to search out suitable components and swap them out changing the design if necssary. it was a nit picking thankless job that had too much oversight... Hours were good though... as long as you showed up and did eight hours and didnt miss a meeting all was good. Contract though so NO VACATIONS... or vacation pay.... holiday pay occasionally.... Hardly ever any overtime.

I burned out one final time.... once my family obligations give me time again I will start a small business designing for people... one day.

ok back and out of the first counciling session......think it went ok was interesting tried to get councilor talk mostly as she was talking was watching my son he started to shut down and I inturpted and managed to help him realize we weren't there to pick on him we were just discussing things ect......@Sharps Big 50 and I have to do homework together to discuss consequences of his actions and choices...

I get it I just feel unsure...

@Double Kindness yep we all got your back to help with hatching stuff , and I get how nerve wracking doing it on your own it's great to have someone to help with it and answer all the crazy anxious questions that happen along the way.. I am still soo jived I had all my chicks hatch! with my homemade incubator

I'm going to sound so creepy... But it's not creepy I have a good memory... Sometimes... From reading stuff about Alaskan I know she/he had a life before she got married and bread parrots so a little older when married, married for like 18 odd years so...16-year-old kid I'm sticking to mid 40s...Maybe older, maybe 50.

Deb your small business made me remember that grant I applied for... Now to bite my nails until February... I like physics, in theory.

LOL I thought you wanted to be a dirty old woman lol.. @vehve I had thought he was older then he was lol.. I still wonder what movie ti was he watched yesterday....... I need some good movies to set up for netflix I wonder if @drumstick diva has any idea's she has mentioned a few goodies I watched cuz of her suggestion
