On price of chickens, we paid 100 euros for three POL Finnish landrace Alho's. I don't think it's that bad of a price, considering you don't need to risk hatching them and you don't have to wait almost half a year for them to start laying eggs.

The pug is about 10 liters per 100km, 9 if only driving highways. That's loads. The Nissan does about 7.2 combined, that's decent, and it's a diesel so it's a bit cheaper. I'd like to have some small car that does about 3.5 or 4 liters per 100km, that would be nice.

I was fussy over $5 a dozen for hatching eggs. Maybe I'm just cheap (DW is shaking her head yes at me being cheap)

I agree with vehve, with eggs you have the risk of some or none hatching. Then hopefully all the chicks live. Not even comparing GFF price, you also have a minimum order of 15 with them I believe maybe it's 25. There are some out their cheaper. The way I was looking at it it costs $ to feed them to about breeding age. So I figured pay the $125 for a trio and start my own flock.
Then I found a couple differen't sources near for cemanis and I can't have too many irons in the fire so I think I should forget about the bresse.
I'll be paying $80 for a young pair of cemani naked neck crosses, and I might buy one pure breed roo for she said they go for $400 but it depends on how perfect they are and sounds like she will give me a better deal. I still want to try some hatching eggs from another guy at $20 each of cemani red leghorn cross. A lot of $ to pay and we are not rich but a small flock of them done right could last my lifetime and selling some should cover costs of feeding all of them.

I have become a poster and not a reader it seems.  Again I have no time to read and am still far behind.  Just had a lot going on.  Hoping the water pipes don't bust, moved the roosters pen to a less windy spot & covered the pen up, feeding the fireplace, work, you know.  Usual, just much colder. 18degrees below 0 (Fahrenheit) wind chill right now.  YEAH!  Can't wait to go to work.  Darn cold out. Not looking any better until maybe Sunday.....if they got it right.  They are warning against frostbite.  And saying hundreds of thousands of people are being hit with this cold air.  Everyone stay warm!!!

We also have our 1st funeral of the year (hopefully the only one of the year) to go to Thursday .  DH cousin passed away.  Elderly (70s or 80s).  So, gotta find clothes for everyone today.  Well, have a good day.  Gotta head off to work.

I sell my eggs to the health food store for nearly 5 dollars a dozen...
