Dixie Chicks

I do. I'm a softie. If I absolutely had to do it myself I would. But If I don't then I have him do it. His uncle was a vet (just retired this year) and helped his uncle when he was young. It's about the only chicken chore he helps with, unless I can't be home.

I hope everyone has a suppppppppppppppppppppppper awesome day!!

I almost forgot my question: What do you do to maintain and keep your chickens healthy and clean both the chickens and the coop or any other chicken related area's what process do you use for cleaning :)
The San Juan Islands are so beautiful, but so is the entire West Coast!

I'm more like you. DSO helps me with any that we need to cull.
Lucky you, my DH said he wants nothing to do with the culling when it comes to it. Gotta find myself someone who can show me the ropes of it.

About culling, it's not something I enjoy, but it is sometimes necessary. I don't really see the benefit of trying to rehome a rooster, most of them will end up getting culled anyway, so he might as well feed us. I take comfort in knowing that our birds have gotten to live a happy life, with the opportunity to free range and interact with other birds in a much more natural way than in a commercial production plant. But the deed itself can be a bit tough, I can understand why many don't want to do it. I do think it's something you need to be prepared to do though, in case a bird gets hurt and no one else is around to do it for you.

Good morning Amberjem and everyone else.
Got home lasg night now it is snow removal time.....it apparently couldn't snow two feet while I was home for a week and a half over christmas.....kudos to Hennible for doing as much as she did what with prior obligations to the kids and all of you, haha

He was. that's why he is already off snow blowing... I mean really I woke up to the sound him shoveling the deck after he got up with the toddler and let me sleep in for hours. how rude!

Sam, he woke you with his noisy snow removal? Very rude... I think he should limit his maintenance work to daylight hours and make you a cup of coffee immediately. Maybe some breakfast too.
