I have a hen I found breathing rapidly and shallow when I fed tonight. Laid an egg today. Vent to ribs seem hot and swollen. Not eye swelling, no snot, no raspy sounds. Very off balance. Dropped wings and dropped tail. Is it egg peritonitis? This is my best chocolate orpington hen and I am trying to save her. I posted in the emergencies section with no luck.

Oh, no! I'm sorry, but I have no clue... never had to deal with that before... hope someone else will know more... maybe deb? She is really good at figuring things out and finding info... hope she gets better!!

Good morning all

Off work today!

Since the bank ran my 2nd background check last Wed, I am calling them for follow up today

My list of what we need to survive for 3 months off the grid has grown to 5 pages. I asked a guy at work yesterday if we sell indoor solar lights. He looked at me like I had a 3rd eyeball and asked if I knew that solar requires sunlight. DUH! Anyways I have decided that I am going to make my own. Looks like the cheapest and simplest way is to use the spent solar pathway lights that are in a pile by the garage and cut them to fit in mason jars. We have a desk by a well lit (Unless it rains all day, which it does a lot here) window. So, we can put those on the desk in the daytime to charge. Not working on that today though. Too much housework

@minihorse Hope you find what's wrong with her. I am going to google it and see if I can find anything. I'll post on the other thread if I see anything it may be.

Pouring snow and windy here, but nothing like what you have @NotAFarm ! Hope all is going well. I heard there are thousands of power outages. Take care.

Cooked bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast. I skipped on the toast. Hubby & little girl ate & have headed off to work and school. Time for housework.

@Outpost JWB well, don't know if i enjoyed it,cool and very windy but at least i got out, its alot nicer here than up there with you, we'''re down here from south of pittsburgh, for the winter, hubby can't take the cold anymore, hes from there and i'm from here, florida so we come down for the bad months
