Deb, I really enjoy reading your writing. That was a nice description of the garden and the work you did on it, I could almost picture it in front of me... but instead it's just snow and sleeping trees here. The sun has been shining for about an hour though, it's amazing how much more energized you can feel when you get some sunshine on you.

Yeah, it's flavored with 0.1% anise oil. I mix about 15% of the seed mix into my feed mix, so it's even more diluted in the final product. That's a wild bird seed mix really, Hold'em Close is the name of the product.

2°F here this morning. House was at 62° cause the wood stove didn't burn to hot last night. BRRRR! Woke up, froze to death picking up duck eggs and getting fire a little hotter.

@Amberjem When things get to busy I just like to sit down and watch the chickens and horses out running around. Watching them relieves any and all stress!

We're at about +1C here. Now the sun is back behind cloud cover. Wilma finally laid again after taking a two day break. I was expecting a whopper, but she laid her normal size.

Oh and to top it off, I go out to feed last night and it's 9°F, my mandarin duck hen decides it's a good time to swim in the small water tub I provided for the bigger ducks to wash their heads in! The water froze instantly on her back. I was worried about her last night but she was nice and dry this morning and seemed fine. Silly things

The SUN is shining.
Our temp got down to 6 degrees last night. Not fun. Worried about one of my Buff English Roos. His comb has been burned I am certain.

Did anyone check out my family recipe for Colonial Williamsburg Orange Cake? Golden raisins soaked all night in gold Rum. A full bottle of it! This morning I make the cake for tonights special birthday party. The 45 minutes at 350* destroys the alcohol but the rum essense is still there and quite lovely. No I am not tempted to have a taste this morning..... Actually during the night I very quietly removed several plump and juicy with rum raisins from the old fruit jar. WOW, I had to clear my throat, slight fire. Went to chew them but felt a weird cough and whezz coming on...so I had to quickly swallow them. Gee me up here in the Moonshine Capital of the World. Maybe why I slept in this morning. Slept beautifully also. Well it is a very busy morning. Hope everyone is well and doing fine.

I am gonna test a few more eggs then will collect a couple and put em in the bator



I am soo sooo excited we have most of the fence done we just have a small part behind the shed and the side of the shed and the front yard fence is done with gates wooohoo....beable to let the dog in and out thru the door and not worry love it!

LOL I crack mine into a clear dish each time. I have no idea why, I know they are ALL fertile. It's just cool.
