The SUN is shining, the SUN really is Shining. And that SUN shining makes me so happy. The cold and melting snow driping forming ice slicks however will keep me in.
I hope others are having a SUN SHINY day too.

Jem, sprouts aren't doing well... I think I've been overwatering. Major mold issues. Trying again with strict twice a day watering. Peas liked it wet though, sadly the chickens were less enthusiastic.

We almost had sun today. For about 5 minutes it was slightly brighter outside, the sun was shining through a thinner cloud cover. Then it got gloomy again. Looks like at least the next two weeks will be more of the same. But the snow is slowly retreating. Once we get a bit of sun going, that lawn is going to grow like crazy. The chickens clearly think it's spring already, when they're let out in the morning they're combing through the exposed areas, and Eemeli is clucking like crazy for his ladies.

hmmmm with the way you have your sprouts thing set up are you able to move and gentle turn the sprouts? I found with my sprouts I needed to stir them a few times a day and a couple rinses a day has done the trick for me... also I stopped putting them in the closet where the water heater is...room with more air circulation seems to have helped also

I would love for it to rain. Or the sun to shine. Frankly, any weather at all would be great. This constant cloud cover and weatherless weather is driving me nuts. I think since Christmas we've had 10 days of sun, and I'm counting the days we've had a few hours of sunshine too.

Okay, I just checked the stats on a weather site, apparently I'm greatly exaggerating the amount of sunshine, it's even less than that.

Ventilation and temp is crucial, molds like it hot and moist. I'm now trying to rinse and stir them properly the first few days. Once they start developing roots I'll let them sit. I also read that the starches you get from them the first few days of rinsing are great for growing mold, so I'm going to rig up something to keep them in the first few days before moving them to the tower.

hmmm ya I can get that often times we will just get gray blah........ no rain which I like only because I dislike mud so much on the other hand sheesh if you arent going to rain where the heck is that big beaming ball of light....... I cant complain to much we have had several gorgious days.........I am wondering how things are going to do here with this super mild winter and we havent had nearly as much rain as usuall for the rainy season...figure the deer are going to go crazy this spring........and if we dont have forest fires all over I'd be surprised........will have to wait for a nice day I want to harvest some ferns from the woods and transplant em.......
