The ducks I used to have came from a local farm produce stand, big busy place, I got some golden comets there also once. They sell hundreds of chicks, ducklings, turklings, guinea keets (where I got the guineas I had also). I'm pretty sure they get them from Mt Healthy cause they have tetra tints and Healthy is the only hatchery that has them. They always look like good healthy birds, and they get quite a few different breeds.
They open up for the season this Friday. I'm going to have to avoid them like I'm avoiding TSC.

I'm avoiding everything possible! I needed some Sav-A-Chick (both kinds) and I asked my dad to pick it up for me. He KEEPS telling me about the chicks at the feed store. I don't want to know!

That sounds like my MIL, lol... she keeps saying we have too many chickens, then calls to tell me she is at the feed store and there are lots of chicks, do I want any???

Actually four breeds for meat culls, I forgot about the black meat birds!
I will be getting them soon maybe next week I'm on vacation, pics coming soon. She sent a pm and said she would sell me six pure cemani eggs for $100.
Should I take a hundred dollar gamble on the first time I try hatching? I would throw some of my wellie eggs in with them. I am scared but I'd hate to make a second four hour round trip to get them some other time.

Simple, breed tufted to non-tufted... better hatch rate than Marans...

I can't resist Araucanas, they have unique voices and amazing personalities...

I don't like the tufts or the whole 'being rumpless' thing.

actually, the rumpless doesn't bother me.... but I wonder if that makes it harder for them to fertilize the eggs?
