Deb, I'm actually thinking I'd cast the X's out of concrete too, it would be a pretty simple pour. Would look good with a glass table top too... I'll have to see what Karin thinks about the idea. Anything would be better than the cardboard box at the moment...

woohoo! I am getting ancona duck eggs next week!!! 12 of them, 7 for my hatcher and 5 for a hen!

Also I went to my first auction this weekend, poultry, mini horses, donkeys, etc. Everything I wanted was there just the prices went too high to quickly for my liking. $80 for one duck! Nope! I am going back to online shopping!

What surprised me was that Llamas went for $80 and thought that was cheap (after I saw a rabbit go for $300). After talking with one of the locals he said "that's expensive, you can get them for $25 in the fall!
It was silly, and I ended up buying nothing .. but instead:

woohoo! I am getting ancona duck eggs next week!!! 12 of them, 7 for my hatcher and 5 for a hen! bought them "online", from a breeder in bc!
yay! Ancona! You'll love them!

Farm over the hill from us, I think they are originally from the middle east, got sheep and goats and then found out we have lots of coyotes.
Then they added a few Llamas and donkeys, both attack coyotes.

If you use concrete legs vehve, and it would be easy, just make a simple form. Don't forget hardware cloth, wire, or rebar, incase you get a crack.
I've seen really nice counter tops and kitchen sinks made out of concrete, you can make it look just like granite or marble if done right.

I can post pictures of my 9 little keepers from this last hatch to pass the time. Lol

PLEASE!

Beer, yeah, but why would you want it to look like marble or granite? I think a real concrete counter top that doesn't try to be something it's not looks a lot better. And also better than marble or granite, really. I've never been a huge fan of the rock counter tops, I like concrete, composite materials, or real wood. And yeah, rebar is a good idea.

V: you will probably cuss out that table several times after busting your shins on it. Concrete has very little "give" to it
