Dixie Chicks

Tell me more about yours!

I have a few more weeks to pick up feed for them, maybe I should anyway?? but what if god forbid nothing hatched...
what would you like to know. I love this breed. They're so friendly and they put themselves up at night and when free ranging hardly eat any feed offered.

Amberjem: this is the best I can do. He also posted a pic of a CL x wheaten Marans on the cream legbar hybrid thread.

Rigged the bedroom windowsill with a shelf. Planted some herbs and lettuce, these will eventually go to the bunny hutch gutter garden.

I've got two basil varieties, some mint, thyme, rucola and some red lettuce, maybe lollo rosso?

Just thought of something vehve. Someone commented before on your use of cans for planting. Tomato cans are already lined because maters are acidic.

Reading up on meat rabbits. I'm going to miss the pet one we had that died this last fall. He gave me tons of great tomato fertilizer. Never heard of this breed started in France and then developed in the USA for larger size. They were bred for meat and for their furs.
From the Livestock Concervancy ;
"Giant Chinchillas are large with mature bucks weighing in at 12 to 15 pounds and does at 13 to 16 pounds. It is the only breed in America that is judged for its commercial value, with meat producing qualities given top consideration on the judging table.Does have large litters and are very good mothers. Youngsters grow very fast and it is easy to produce a 7 pound fryer in just 2 months."
