Pullet, will be laying at about 19weeks of age, sometime around May 5th. Looks just like the Hy-Line browns I saw today, they actually seemed like very nice birds.

Aw, sorry to hear about your chicks.

I keep having to move one of my Chantecler pairs. The flood zone in the yard keeps changing.

I'm a little iffy about that site. A little bad info can ruin a site's credibility.

I remember you posting white Chantecler pictures? I got partridge!

5 ladies, and adding this year! A rooster and a few more ladies I think.

Thanks for the heads up on that side, as with almost everything these days: take it with a grain of salt. or sometimes a whole shaker of salt.

finally got a side view of nugget ...sooo cockerel or pullet? hatched 1/1/15

I'm going with cockerel due to the darker wing bows. Plus it looks like he's trying to get a saddle in.

@vehve that night sounds like it was a really good informative night.

Tonight DH and I are going to a "Ducks Unlimited" fundraiser. They do wetland conservation. Dinner, silent and live auctions. This year marks their 30th year for this event.

BC, yeah, it was a fun day. I missed most of the lectures since I was in charge of setting up the sales area, but the lecturers seemed really good. There wasn't much new info to me as it was mainly aimed at people thinking of getting chickens, but we had a good mix of people who already had the birds and people still in the process of getting them, so there were many good questions.

I might have jinxed myself... had the mechanic at my work put the all season tires onto my truck. Please please please no more snow
