when do brown leghorns typically start laying?

They are more "normal" with start of lay... 20 weeks.
 
Haven't had any issues with beard/muff picking... but my Am's and EE's all seem to be high up in pecking order... now 2 of my poor Araucana bantams have balding heads due to the alpha hen and her sidekick picking on them... :/
 
I have just the one Amerauanca pair, ALL BY THEMSELVES in a coop about 3 x 4 with access to a 4x8 run, and they STILL eat each others beards... you can tell that they always sit in the same way, since the girl is missing only one side of her beard/muff.
