Dixie Chicks

I have to go simple for now, I have a couple 50 gallon drums I could paint black for this season... Placement might be tricky... If I could, the obvious choice is geothermal... Just dreaming for a second...
Ok if I had a closed pipe system filled with water, half buried under the beds half in the "ceiling" where its hot would convection circular the water??

I think so...
One day I'm building the one in that video...

ok I think you should look into a rocket stove style system....crap good and rubbish you can burn could be used....and the system will retain the heat under ground it's lotsa digging n stuff but it'd be a cheap easy viable way to heat and store the heat into the ground or containers... if you somehow coiled the heat duct around the barrel to heat the water inside it it would hold and spread it furtgher......plus you wouldnt need to burn alot if you get it set up right with the wood gas release and distribuition...so a bit of scrap could go long way
I'm going home from work. This fever is back and I can't kick it. Uhg.
good go home you have done your job well infecting all your coworkers with the plague mary :p no seriously deel better soomn and get your buns home and rest

Thanks jem
I love the rocket stove idea, but I'm more interested in something that is passive, and requires little or no fuel. That's the dream any way...
you can still use that medthod and do a solar heat to coil around the barrels with a puter fan if you dont want to use the rocket stove....then the heated air circulating around the barrel would warm up the water for *** heat storage

I am hoping to set up my solar air heated box this year for the greenhouse......supplies for it will be pretty inexpensive if I use aluminium cans instead of piping score a window to use for the solar cover on the box......puter fans are cheap enough and can pick up 12v ac/dc adapters at local thrift store...

Al, when did you last calibrate your hygrometer? 16% humidity inside sounds very low, I'm thinking your hygrometer might be showing 20% too low values or something.

And good morning to everyone!

Not low when there is no precipitation and the wood stove is blazing non stop. Right now it is at 30 ish....

Don't people use that all the time? Doollywhop? As in "Why the doollywhop did you do that?" it is related to the phrase "What is that doohicky?"

So... I don't have a hen that seems to be going broody. What do you do when you order more eggs then fit into your incubator?

Yep, what other people said... stack. The problem though with the Brinseas is that head room is limited, so if you aren't careful, when you put the lid back on you crush eggs.

But... I am a bit challenged, in many areas.

Mini, get better soon.
