Do what Peep said....are the Ams in lockdown already? Place as she said for best chances of hatching.

Saddle cells are not so bad.   If you hatch in egg cartons just make sure the largest air pocket area is tilted facing up.  (kinda like putting your face to the sunshine)

Good luck!

:fl

Thanks... just feeling frustrated... not in cartons... in my previous hatches I found that incubating in carton worked well for damaged air cells, but hatching in them most pipped too low and drowned since I couldn't see the pips...

Yep, in lockdown... with the ohiki...

Quote: In the future, on your final candle, just before lockdown, trace the wonky air cell. Place the egg(s) with the air pocket facing up in the rack/egg carton (like Peep said). You will know whether the external pip is in the air cell if it is in your tracing.
I hope some of them hatch!

Thanks, been doing all that, just fighting humidity here now... never had an issue with it during fall/winter hatches but lately it is really hard to keep it down enough in the bators... they pip in air cell, but get drowned in the extra fluid before they can get it zipped enough...
I am hoping though... :hugs

Hoping the ohiki do pull through. Those are my best hatches here (normally)

On a good note my leg horns are a brown split single comb roo, 3 Isabel pullets, and a brown split rose comb pullet
