Dixie Chicks

the black spot isn't moving and it's almost the size of a loonie!

there is a slight off putting smell in the incubator... I wasn't too sure at first, but I am thinking it's this one.

hate making decisions like this because I'll want to crack it open....

I used to wait for some signs of life as well , but after enough incubation I've learned , a live chick embryo swims around , blobs are just that , and they go bad fast once they appear ......never had a incident with any , but now I just toss them as soon as I spot them .

Dang, ok, I'll toss for sure tonight.

I forget what kind of poultry (breeds, etc) you keep Cold Canadian?

I waited 35 days once for a broody RIR during the summer, pre BYC days, heck we didn't even have a computer. Knew nothing of candling. Picked a egg up and it violently exploded. RIR apparently don't know how to incubator eggs.

I've got a broody large fowl cochin. I have ducklings (calls) that I am having a horrid time hatching. She is a first timer. Worth a shot?

I had mostly Cuckoo Maran's , but I gave them all to my nephew when a fox killed of there whole flock one night . I have had RIR"s , the real RIR's and not the hatchery ones being sold mostly these days . Now I will be getting eggs for Partridge Chantecler eggs shortly , remind me of the Barnveldors in color , but just brown egg layers mostly . Did have Light bramas at one point , Delwares , Dark Cornish , black copper Marans ,etc etc .........love having chicks and colorful breeds , plus the eggs which are the bonus .......
