haha, no I'm raising the quail to feed the ohiki. They do need protein for that tail!

I agree bama. It's why nothings been off the farm this year. Haven't brought anything new home either since the beginning of mmay. Those were shipped chicks from Georgia.

Many people in NY are not getting there chicks and ducks,

"High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI)
State: ALL
Date Effective: May 14, 2015
All poultry moved into New York require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection or a USDA VS Form 9-3 and must be:
1) From a source flock in which 30 birds were tested negative for avian influenza within ten days prior to entry into New York State; OR
2) From a source flock that has been certified by the State of Origin as an Avian Influenza Monitored Flock; OR
3) From an NPIP U.S. H5/H7 Avian Influenza Clean or NPIP U.S. Avian Influenza Clean Flock
All hatching eggs and day-old chicks imported into New York must be from an NPIP U.S. H5/H7 Avian Influenza Clean flock or NPIP U.S. Avian Influenza Clean Flock."

I called SandHill today, they said NY is fine they are AI monitored and send the box of chicks with the AI and NPIP info labeled on the outside. They were just AI inspected and certified last month

I still have a few people ahead of me on their white giants and black and blue langshans. She said those are only a few birds of each orders so I will probably get them, and asked if I was negotiable on dates, I put from the earliest (March 10)through July 14, ( They told me I would get them May 5!

) I said no, we had minus 25 degrees wind-chill and subzero weather the last two yrs, I do not want to go into winter with young chickens, so we'll see
