None of mine hatched

That totally bites


I REALLY hope I get a decent hatch from my shipped Am eggs.

It turns out the pair of bantam wheaten Ams that I have suck genetically.

-Their eggs don't like hatching
- of the THREE i have managed to hatch out this year (maybe set 20 eggs), two have funky beaks (not cross beak, but the top beak is a bit of an arch, doesn't mess with the ability to eat, but clearly not right), and, of the three that hatched one (the only one with a good beak) is half the size of the one that hatched with it. I have been wondering why it hasn't died. It almost started to die, andI fed it fish oil for two days, and it perked up again.

I am SUPER excited!


I have always wanted d'anvers!

The kids love our d'uccles, but I HATE the feathered feet... I think a few got a bit of frostbite on the toes.... but how would I know? Those nasty feathers!

anyway, d'anvers are just d'uccles but better suited for mud and cold.

I was a bit bummed though... she said that she would ship me everything that hatched, and thought that she might have 30 hatch... but only 21 popped out!

HOWEVER, some of my favorite colors ever are in the batch!
