Dixie Chicks

I would surely get 5-6 more eggs if it were to hatch...I would almost feel like I was sinning by crossing the ac to anything

Lol! Yeah then post it on the ac thread and get ripped up because if you call them cemani crosses your tainting the name, guess your supposed to call them something else.

Alot of those breeder threads have some hardcore folks. I was most recently scolded on a cream legbar thread for calling them "crested cream legbars". Apparently that is a no no. I was informed that by my labeling them as crested would indicate that a non crested version exists. Then I was sent the link to the proposed standard which I have yet to read.

Howdy hay!

Spouse has left... Bear got into the corner of our trash box last night... And managed to pull out some yummies (which mean that he has been rewarded for his efforts -insert curse word-

My arthritic hand is acting up... But I will go out in a few minutes, shoot off the gun so the bear doesn't eat the kids (only ones left at the house with me are the two small ones.. Tasty sized) and then they can load up my car with trash....

Must be time to do a dump run.

Those silly eggs of mine are now finally hatching... :idunno guess that means my temps were a bit low...

One out, one half unzipped, and two clear pips... All in my own bantam wheaten Ams... My 4 wyandotte eggs and two leghorn don't have pips yet... But we shall see

My shipped eggs were scheduled to hatch tomorrow... But I guess it the first set it late. The second will be too..... So maybe Wednesday???

Hand.... Ow.... Sniff

Jem, sorry you are in so much pain

Bama, awesome on the eggs... But right now the ac has or hasn't hatched???

BC, Hard to imagine how you can see button quail well enough to assist... Those things are TINY :lau

BC, I just noticed SandHill has not only black cayuga but blues and chocolate also, I've never heard of them.
interesting... mine look more or less green/blue when the light hits them right. Is this just a money grab?

Some people go crazy about their breeds...happens with any animal. I see it in the dog world very regularly.

I have my bator coming up to temp...getting ready to set them in an hour or so. I pmd the seller yesterday to ask what the ac egg is. Still havnt heard back.
I am setting 35 of my eggs, 5 isabel leghorns, and 1 marked "AC".
Got my Premier 1 brooder plate in yesterday. It works great. So happy to get the 20+ week old chicks out of my bedroom closet (and the 250 watt heat lamp).
