would wetting their feed change amything? I've had chick's that don't seem to want to eat go crazy for wet feed. Or meal worms maybe?Cute!
Super glad she is feeling better!
My "not sure they wanna die" chicks.... The one super close to death one did die... The rest are being mostly chick-like... But they still don't like eating on their own.... They prefer to ONLY eat the feed that is sticking to a person's fingers... Instead of the feed in the feeder and ALL over the floor of the brooder.
It is a bit crazy odd....
I have NEVER had such ridiculous chicks!!!!!
yay!
she chose to live! She's not 100% strength wise yet, but definitely bright eyed and talkative. Emptied most of her crop last night (which was super full) so at least that's working.
ha, well she chose a good tight spot it looks like.Yay! So happy for you!
Well, I placed my Orpington hen and a rooster, the lady might be interested in the second rooster too. So -2 animals and +10... Came home with 2 bronze turkeys and 8 Cayuga ducks. Poultry math, you know. Almost forgot to mention the quail hatching eggs. Dh helped with the critters, all in their homes just before the rain and thunderstorm hit.
Oh and if I am all upset about loosing my EE in the next little while please be so kind and remind me that she's built herself a nest on the compost..

At first we thought she was stuck in there only to find a cold egg. She's trying to hide and hatch out eggs!

I really appreciate that. My flock is very very hot. I'm dragging frozen soda bottles out there and running the hose. I even sit out there with them so they will see I'm suffering along with them, LOL
How are you dealing with the heat?
