Dixie Chicks

When I hunt State Land I see a lot of bobcat tracks, usually following snowshoe hare. Neighbor saw one by round bales across the road I believe him, he's not a liar, but haven't had any bother my chickens yet...I'm more worried of fishers, didn't know we had them here until I caught one on my trail cam in video devouring deer guts, put it up for coyotes, it was about five hundred yrds behind my house. Fishers scare me, not me but my chickens..

I only ever heard of Fishers here on BYC they look like a large weasel or small otter... about the size of a house cat. We arent part of their range....

But we do have weasels. and grey fox .... dang I keyed in predators in Jacumba (where my place is) and did NOT get what I wanted....

@Amberjem , those posts that you posted last night or night before are super cute. We bought 4 amberlink pullets this past spring & they are growing to be some of the best natured chickens

. I accidently called them Amberjems a couple times & now that is what my daughter calls them. LOL! You should be proud to have such wonderful chickens named after you.

Hope you all have a great day!

i'e never seen someone put eggs into plastic egg holders, put batting on the top and bottom and off they go.

Not a successful shipment. 3 good eggs, 1 cracked but willing to give a chance. 22 totally broken.

I've got chain link surrounding all the runs here and the main run is made of chainlink. It definitely keeps the dogs and coyotes from getting in from the sides.

So is chainlink a material you can buy fairly cheap in your area?

In our area it is beyond expensive. DH and I came across 5 rolls of chainlink on our property after we bought it and listed it for $1000 online. It was gone within days and the people thought we were giving it away.
