Dixie Chicks

I can't  imagine.  I'd have SO MANY MORE CHICKENS!!!   DH stays home, so it's hard to sneak new ones past him:rolleyes: .  If he were gone all week, we'd probably have well over 200!  150 chickens & 9 rabbits, sounds like big numbers, but it's really not that hard.  Feed, water, check over everyday.  Takes a little over an hour.  Sometimes more if I'm cleaning pens.  So what's another 50?  Oh, and a kitten!

lol... don't feel too bad about your numbers... I refuse to do an actual full count right now... and hatched 60+ in last 2 weeks... but did sell the last 6 blue Ameraucanas I had left today... so I can set more eggs, right???? :D

OK.... Which of you all live in the US and have Muscovy?

I am looking for whatever colors... Though I would prefer no black, and I really wanted the chance of a blue.

I wanted zero whitehead gene, and it would be nice (but I am thinking impossible to get) to have at least some not have the wild markings at hatch.

Anyway.. Anyone have what I am looking for? Or have a neighbor who has what I want?

I will pay a reasonable price, but I would really like 2 or 3 dozen, incubating only 6 eggs is so not worth it for me.

@minihorse927

Kinda barfy about the intended.

Not sure what you can do about it though. :idunno

Moving is also horrid (but at times also fun and exciting....depending).

I am guessing that he looked for a local job and couldn't find one....or just really likes the one he has and doesn't want to change.

Point... Did I have a point? Yes I did! The point is, I am nit sure how to fix it, but DEFINITELY complain to us as much as you want!

he keeps looking locally but no one pays well around here. If he wants to go full time diesel mechanic he could have a good paying job but he hates playing mechanic and only does it when the ones they hired are at a loss or they need a motor overhauled. They don't trust anyone else on overhauls. He prefers to drive where he can actually make some money.

Joshs mom has muscovy but I think she pretty well gave all of her hens away except for 1 white and 1 chocolate hen that's mostly chocolate. She's got a chocolate drake over them. Don't know if they're still laying or what cause I know they had about 30 ducklings each and I think she gave those away too.

Don't have any, sorry... but I saw some chocolate scovy's somewhere?? I'll try to remember where I saw them if you're interested in those...

Sounds so much like Jim... he has at least an hour drive for his work too... and refuses to go back to mechanic work just cuz it's closer...

Oh, and watching that Ohiki cockerel try to wing cut towards me was super adorable!! That's when he hopped on my hand and climbed my arm to snuggle... :D

they all super tiny?

Yep... looks like it to me... that black cockerel is the tallest, just measured him and is about 6 1/2 inches from the floor to top of his shoulders/wing bows... all the others are shorter... think their bodies are about 6 inches long too... not counting fluffy tails, lol...

I guess the biggest thing that is getting to me about him being gone all the time is he was just on vacation with me since Tuesday night and he has to drive nights this week (he chose that shift cause it pays over $1300 a night to the truck) so he left here a little after 4pm. He normally leaves between 7 and 8pm on Sunday nights.

I love vacations but I also hate it.
