Driving too heavy loads is a bit of a pain... I bought a trailer full of soil and hauled it with our Nissan, my god that thing handled crappy at that point. Must have had about 2-3 tonnes in the breakless crappy little rental trailer. Anything over 750kg is illegal on those. But I got the load home, only had about 10 km to drive with it, and not much ups and downs. But it's not something I'll do again... The car was fine with it though, just the trailer that didn't really like it. That's the way people move heavy and big loads here, no one can afford to get a big truck for just that kind of purposes. Bought new, a basic option Toyota Hilux or a VW Amarok will set you back about 40K. The US made trucks with bigger engines are even more, due to them putting out so much crap out of the exhaust.

Nothing like having your trailer drive you.... Scary Scary... I had a friend Phyllis who wanted to go to a horse show and offered to take me and my horse. Awesome... Till she showed up with a buick town car hitched to her horse trailer... "No worries I do this all the time" Oh the car hat the power but With 2500 pounds of live load in the form of two horses eavery step or stomp and the tail of that car would whoosh right and left. Ruined my horse for Travelling in horse trailers for about three years.

That is TERRIFYING!!!!!!!

Watched my BIL load a borrowed back hoe onto a borrowed truck and fifth wheel trailer. IDK why he didn't do it at the bottom of the hill where it was level. Must have thought loading it down hill in the driveway would be easy. Somehow the *** end of the truck picked up and off the ramps hoe went and truck down the hill. Good thing the truck wheels turned or it would have destroyed it. Only the ramps were ruined.

I could change these words around and make something cool lol

DH and I will be purchasing a 14ft livestock trailer this week or next. . Thankfully we both drive trucks for the moment but it'll still be iffy for when we drive through the Rockies during our move.
We both have experience driving with trailers under load but I am so not looking forward to it.

Yesterday I walked into my chicken coop only to discover one of my quails falling over not being able to stand. It felt so skinny... no meat on this bird at all!! So I decided to bring it into the house (yeah, the cat thought this was a brilliant idea, she watched quail tv for almost the entire afternoon). Got food and water into it and it came back to life within an hour.
Then I went out to check on the rest of the quails. They weren't nearly as skinny as quail #1, but I could still feel the chest bones sticking out. I think maybe they burned too many calories to try and stay warm for the amount of food they ate?? Food is available 24/7 and replace the ice with fresh water once a day. They are on a Pheasant Starter which is 25% protein.
So, how do I put weight back on these birds? Crickets, worms, a special seed?

The cat still watches quail tv, she'll watch for hours and then passes out on the couch for brief periods of time. haha
