I don't think I've ever named a chicken...Had a RIR rooster named George when I was a kid, meanest darn thing I've ever faced. I'd rather stare down a black bear again. My chickens have no names, kids think two do. They're sadly mistaken, one of them will be soup soon..

Only named one rooster myself ......a truly giant Black Jersey Giant , he made the hens look small , but a true defender over his flock ....Troy , seemed to suit him .Got a rooster once that had been a pet in the city , but when he started crowing the owner didn't want to have his small flock taken away so we traded a rooster for two young hens , Fox was his name , apparently he roamed his neighbourhood and everyone knew him ? Forget the breed .....corn flake rooster ?

You know I'm not far. Be glad to meet up with you sometime for lunch:D

Ours are named for the fact that we have so many. Just to differentiate from them. Doesn't bother me to butcher a named chicken. They all look the same skinned in freezer bags. Some are never going to cross the chopping block though. DD loves Mr. T. He was the one who's mom (a golden polish) killed by raccoons, so we incubated her 2 eggs that she had laid the previous few days and we ended up with some kind of wacky looking Easter egger rooster.

Got to get ready for work. You all have a good day:D
