I never cared much for freshwater bass until I started gutting them and put on ice. No fishy bassy flavor then. They never live on a stringer or in a bucket if they fit. Perch, bluegill, crappie, bullhead etc, using live bait don't have that problem with. If they swallow the hook I just leave it ,and tie a new one on Get the hooks back when I fillet them at home.
 
I've tried shark meat once, it wasn't a pleasant experience. Sort of had a urine like taste.
Chevy's -- a restaurant chain of Mexican and Tex/Mex-style food -- used to have shark fajitas that were DIVINE. Haven't seen it on the menu in years... Probably something to do with mercury or eco-friendliness. I dunno, but I miss the dish.
