really? all my chicks I've given to a broody have been older not to old... if they are to old they wont bond with her...and they will reject her instead of her rejecting them... it's how my grandma did it ....didnt realize it was unusual

Heck, I have never had any luck, and I thought the four-day- old chicks I tried to get a broody to adopt were too old. I believe what I have read is anything over 4 days old to a week the Mom won't adopt. You and your grandma both must truly be chicken whisperers.
