Dixie Chicks

I don't think it's a blueberry, they're not hard when they have color. I still think it's a wild raisin, don't understand the oozing though. I'd like to check out some here and see if there is any oozing, but where I know for sure there is some is up behind my parents house, and I haven't been over there in a couple yrs.
If it ain't a wild raisin, I'd say probably poisonous. ...

This is how the elbow is cut to alloe feed in.

I need to start making those... :/

What is the cut out part for Hoss?

I'm wondering about the squared off cut section on the street el?

I think she sets the end down flush to the bottom of the bucket instead of suspending it 3/4" above the bottom, so cutting out a part lets the feed fall under the elbow... correct me if I'm wrong, lol...

Mini, does it let enough feed get into reach? And do you use those for Calls too, or no?

ravyn is correct. I set them down against the bottom of the bucket or trash can I'm using as a feeder. The cut section allows feed to flow into the PVC elbow.

The pvc where the buck tooth lion bit it

I have adapted one for the calls ravyn. I quickly realized they couldn't reach so I bought a 45° elbow and cut about 1/4 of it off on the inside. This keeps the elbow shorter and allows more feed into the elbow and easy reach for smaller birds. I haven't noticed much wasting as long as I keep a piece of duct tape over the bottom half of the opening so they don't rake the feed onto the ground. These new feeders I have made have cut my feed bill in half and I'm not exaggerating.

It lets plenty of feed in and you can cut the section out as high as you want to make the feed level deeper. My birds used to act like they were starving all the time, now they rarely eat for more than a few minutes at a time.

Sweet, I need to do those... I think the flockin field rats get more food than the birds do... :/

But the Calls aren't bad, actually... they like to clean up after themselves, lol... the Ohiki on the other hand are the worst wasters... :barnie

Hey, our fave local TSC employee just came back... she's the assistant manager and we thought she quit or something... turns out she popped the tendons in her foot loading pallets... I felt a rather odd sense of deja vu...
