DIY CABINET COOLER INCUBATOR How we did it and TEST RUN Ready Set GO!

My cooler bator is reading at 3 different temps. 100 at the bottom, 102 in the middle and 104 at the top. What should I do to even out the temps? I was thinking of enlarging the vent hole on the bottom of the cooler to help air circulate better, not sure if that is what I need to do though.

you can use a lower power supply to slow it down and you do not have to worry for anything

I did lower the bulb wattage significantly and the temps stay the same at each level, which is why I am thinking the air isn't circulating enough to make the heat even through out. But I am new at the cooler bator so Im not too sure.

Quote: I threw a few candling links in the hatching 101 article in the candle section as well as the What went wrong section their are breakout analysis to help you guess at what could go wrong too!

I move them about 2x a week in my coolers, and in the cabinet I do it 1x week although maybe I should do more often as I had two chicks late in both of my last hatches which makes me think I have a cool spot in a corner or something, the brinsea spot check has been fairly a pain in the butt trying to use to check where my issue is, since I have to open the bator I have to wait until its back to temps to check that location before I move to another. plus balancing the spot check while I try to do this is a pain too, it needs a hook on it so I can hang on the trays lol

Quote: The very top ones I have drilled in mine near the light sockets, those are sealed with tape, I only had them drilled if needed during hatching.

try that, otherwise you need to mess with your vent and shelf size in the bottom, thats why I said it took me forever to get it right, and I made adjustments before I permanently installed the bottom shelf. I also have the top hole on the left side sealed with tape. I would use duct tape and add it to your return vent and just start by making it half inch smaller on each side, and then see what difference that makes. your sure your back vent is sealed very well?
