DIY CABINET COOLER INCUBATOR How we did it and TEST RUN Ready Set GO!

Well, mine is complete!
hmm.png
It is finally inside my house, and been running over night to find the right temp range... AGAIN, because my bf couldn't be patient and jacked it WAY up to 106 when we plugged it back in!!
Now today to move thermometers all around and be sure its the same everywhere! Fingers crossed it works so I don't have to remove rack #4!!!!

Would this be a good application for one of those temperature sensing "guns" ? I know they are not accurate at any distance, but I think they register quickly and so you could scan a number of spots with a single opening of the incubator.

Or maybe I'm just looking to justify a new toy. Those seem like a neat device.

if thats the maximum tilt, you may neet some modifications but I lobe the external turn handle

Oh goodness no! Lol That is my "level" setting to add & remove trays. Its actually tilted just a touch forward to make it easier to lift them
Over the lip of the shelves they sit on though.

and if you can get the trays sall and I use they old 48 large eggs

not so good with extra large or small banties though

I already had 5 of these is y I am using them. I purchased the cooler, fans, & thermostat for this project. Everything else is things we had sitting around the house. ( Or in my bf's hoarder dads basement!) lol

Just finished checking front & back, too to bottom. It looks good!!! All seems stable, WAY more so than my Lg! LMBO!

Now, I'm fixing to try my 1st dry hatch! Anyone got a link to what I should do? Looks like my humidity is running about 22% with nothing in. Fixing to put eggs in!!!!!

I "dry hatch", though that's a bit of a mis-nomer, IMO. RH should not be a fixed value for every case, there are variables. You can gauge whether the humidity is right be either tracking the weight, or watching the size of the air cells. The "Hatching 101 by Sally Sunshine" link in the posts above explains this in detail. To start, I would guess 22% to be a bit low, but the best thing is to set some eggs and track the first batch closely to decide if you need to increase the humidity.
