DIY CABINET COOLER INCUBATOR How we did it and TEST RUN Ready Set GO!

I know someone must sell them, I saw the pic of the box in the original post, but nowhere in this ridiculously small town can I find 90Watt light bulbs!!!!
Any reason 100 Watt would be an issue?? Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!

you can use 100W or 73 or 72watt lol

they took 90 and 75 off market, so now they sell them as weird numbers, and some are already called "rough use" or something or other..... read back through the first section of the thread there are other light bulb options too!

Lol Thanks. We put the 100Watts in yesterday and its holding temp AMAZING!! I need to check my digitals against my mercury, so didn't have them all in. Just the mercury hanging a few feet from the shelf trying to get the thermostat somewhere near the correct setting, but it was doing great! YAY!!!

Quote: awesome! did you put the bottom shelf or no? and you have good temps all the way in the back to the front and top to bottom?

I am very pleased, I am thinking about my goals and we have had almost a hatch a week at this point, and I can RELY on my CABINET to get chicks hatched Sunday eve into Monday morning to get shipped out on the express truck in the afternoon, AWESOMENESS, mission accomplished for us! I cant thank everyone enough who helped me with my thoughts! I read and read and researched and researched and brainstormed and for once it fell together and I am pleased and grateful for the much needed extra income, be it small, its still makes a difference!

No. I haven't gotten that far into the check. Just was getting the thermostat set where it needs to be, or at least close, so that it'll be easier to just make small adjustments. I also haven't put in a bottom shelf yet. I am going to try & see if I can keep temps stabler without it 1st, because if like to add a 4th tray for my oddball stuff that I cannot get a full tray of at once, like turkey eggs and such. I will start checking temps everywhere tomorrow. (Have to spend today on an 8th grade field trip) lol And I also still need to make the tray holders and the semi auto turner.

I have 1 but unless you are really close the readings can be way off. As you get further from surface the temp "ray" or beam expands into a cone. Which can be very large and it takes a temp of ANYTHING within the cone.

Makes sense. That follows physic laws. What is the working distance? I know that the details state but the REAL working experience and what is advertized is often different.

Before and after pictures of the wine fridge incubator project. First pictures of before I did anything to it...

and after stripping off all the compressor stuff.

I am thinking I'll leave the panel inside on the back and use it to conduct warm air downward like the part you added onto the back of the Coolerbator. I'm trying to think this through but I'm not very good at figuring this kind of thing out on my own. I did break down and order an "incukit" so I don't have to think my way through that part...just the set up and tinkering to get temps adjusted right. (I hope)
