I'm trying to find a good way to feed my chickens. I want to hang their feeder in their coop. I have a plan to use a 9" cake pan as the bottom where they get their feed....but want to make the long tube out of that hold's their feed?

Suggestions appreciated!!

3 or 4 inch PVC pipe about 18 inches long. 3 - 2 inch L shaped brackets with holes on each end , 6 screws w/ nuts. attach brackets to pan & tube, TA DA !

You only have a few girls.. I use for my smaller flocks a throw about pie tin and a 5lb(bulk) Cottage cheese or Sour Cream container (restaurants have them and are normally a nice clean white color. and they have a lid if you want to use them.. Very easy to make and cheap to replace if needed. a hole in the pie tin and bottom of the cottage cheese container, a small bolt entering from the bottom of the pie tin , a washer on the bottom of the tin pin pan and inside the cottage cheese container and bolt to top it off.

I have just made a bigger one from a 5 qt ice cream pale and a plastic serving (1.50) from our Dollar General

My flock eats out of a litter box.

I have two ducks in with the chickens, and the ducks spill food everywhere. They had trouble scooping up the food out of the feeders, so I tried the litter box. They still spill a lot, but this way everyone can eat pretty easily at once and it's simple to refill.
