Since we got our first ducks and chickens, it's been a joke between dear husband and me that more of them end up being dropped and fertilizing the yard than is normal. I learned early on not to put them in jacket pockets with keys or anything electronic.
(whoops!) My favorite collection tool has always been my t-shirt and an egg apron - when I remember it - that I love but tend to bang on stuff and crack a few eggs.
A week or so ago I dropped a whole day's worth of eggs (100+)
and he built me this handy dandy little cart out of the "free" wood from Lowes in the hopes that dropped eggs are (mostly) a thing of the past. It's bound to happen sometimes.
In case this is helpful to anyone else, I'm sharing what has been a helpful way to get up to 2 crates of eggs (up to about 240 eggs in plastic flats) from coops to the house. We've talked about building one that's a double-wide version for some other products (buckets with feed, etc). So far so good!
