DIY Thread - Let's see your "Inventions".

lol, KDK1, the reply from me about liking the quote at the bottom was to you, (If a man speaks in the forest) the question about the pvc was to aricisom, about the waterer idea they made. I am new to all this posting trying to figure it all out =)

Sadly all my "inventions" are in the theoretical phase (indefinitely).

I admire the people that can take the idea out of their head and make it happen! Good job everyone!

Well its a work in progress but maybe my coop counts.

I'm about to add some more pictures of the other roosts I added, but let me tell you this first.
I dont like the square mounting brackets. Sure they look all nice, but of the three mount trials the triangle bottom and connecting the roost supports directly to the wall work much better. Those square boxes wobble much more than I like

Here's a somewhat recent photo set.

Its all hand made from floor to ceiling except for the walls.
Still far form done, but its great trying new things.

If you are talking about the waterer/feed between the cinder blocks I use PVC rain gutters with caps on the end. My new one uses both the top and bottom cinder block holes. Make sure that the end caps are sealed well or the water will leak out.

These are not inventions but they have worked so well for us. Here is our "L" shaped pvc feeder. It is made from 4" pipe. We didn't glue the fittings in. It is sturdy enough without the glue and then I clean it if necessary. I get zero waste feed (except that there's a mouse living in my coop with the chickens!).

I have a screen door we made out of hardware cloth that we attached the feeder to with "garage organization" hooks (the ones for the pegboards, I think).

We also did the 5 gallon pail thing with the screw in chicken nipples. I put a chicken killing cone on top to keep them from roosting on it, ha ha!

They don't appear to be. But then I found it completely empty this morning and don't know when it ran out. Good thing I have back up water for them. I will have to figure it out and report back.
