Ok, the feeder is neat and everything, but I wa t to know how he got that chicken to stand on that scale! Lol.

You'll have to leave it open for a couple of days, then prop it open slightly for a couple of days till they learn how to operate it themselves. The first day or so of using it themselves, they will freak out when it opens. It might take a week or so but they'll get it.

This is our little pvc chicken tractor. I built it to fit right over my raised gardens so that the chickens can do the weeding and tilling before I plant! Later, I'll put it over the compost pile so they can stir that up as well.

I love this. I'm going to make one for my gardens and compost. Perfect! THANKS for the idea. My girls will love it.

Here is something neat I read on another thread (not my idea, but I will use it): She uses a dimmer switch in her brooder lamp, so if she needs to make it cooler or warmer she turns the switch rather than move the brooder. Cool!!

I have three of these setup for 8 growing chickens. I think I'll add a 7 gallon bucket gravity system for the heat of the summer.
I'm still working on the feeder.
