Hi everyone,

we live on a farm and breed Moscovey Ducks.

There is a disease effecting the ducklings which causes a watery ring around the eye and or glassy eye.

They lose balance and we have unfortunately lost a fair few.

Does anyone know what this is and how to stop it?

THere water is changed daily and they have lots of room.

Please help!

Thanks

Heres a link to common duck diseases but i didn't read anything there with the symptoms you described, so sorry for your losses, putting some ACV into their water daily can help boost the immune system 1Tab. to 1 gallon of water, also poultry vitamins I always give these when ducklings or chicks first hatch. I use Poultry Nutri Drench but there are others, making sure bedding is fresh and not damp or smelly [which is hard with ducks] but very important. Are you giving them fresh feed appropriate for ducklings? sometimes feed can be moldy. Hopefully someone else can help out .

Have they gotten into something toxic? If so a flush may help - instructions are in the stickies section.

It may be a virus, in which case cleaning their housing and environment might help, as well as doing all you can to boost their immune systems - vitamins, electrolytes, probiotics, ACV . . . .
