Hello, I am incubating 7 silkie eggs from my own flock. Today was day eight of incubation. I candle them and didn't see any veins but the yolk looked dark. The air cell was the correct size for day eight and has grown considerably since I first put them in. Does this mean that an embryo is developing inside?
Thanks!

No not necessarily. The darkness you are seeing could be the egg rotting.

You should see veins.

Can you take a few pictures of what you are seeing and post them?

Do you have a for sure rooster? I just saw another thread if yours where you say you don't have a rooster.

I don't have a rooster that I know of, but I saw some bulls eye like marks on the eggs I was getting. The eggs I have in the incubator are kind of an experiment.

You can't hatch without fertile eggs..No Rooster = 0 Chicks..
